The tour

Considered, not crowded.

Six features worth slowing down on — the ones that make Tasks feel different from both the bare-bones to-do apps and the everything-tools. The complete reference, every view and control and shortcut, lives in the docs.

01 · Compose

Type the way you think.

Write “Review PR every Monday #engineering @alex” and the app parses the date, the recurrence, the tag, and the mention. The same parser handles “tomorrow at 3,” “every other Tuesday,” “next month,” “in 20 min.” You stay on the keyboard. No date pickers, no nested menus, no second screen to confirm what you already wrote.

02 · Plan

A daily ritual, not a feed.

Today is a deliberate choice, not a default view. A small scoring engine ranks candidates by seven factors — overdue, due today, due soon, assigned to you, recent activity, recurrence due, and explicit pin — and surfaces the ones worth your morning. You confirm, close Plan, and the rest of the app stops asking. One source of truth for what to focus on.

03 · Feed

History, not notifications.

Every task action becomes an event. Completed, created, moved, assigned, commented — all of it lands in the Feed, grouped by day and by morning/afternoon/evening bands. Filter by person, project, or verb. The app never pushes notifications at you; context is available when you go looking. The result is a team rhythm you can scrub through like a journal.

04 · Keyboard

Built to disappear under your hands.

Tasks is keyboard-first the way Linear and Cron are. Linear-style leader navigation (g then a letter) gets you to any view in two keys. c composes, p opens Plan, ⌘+kopens the palette. Selection, multi-select, drag, escape — all bound to keys you already know. The cursor never leaves where you are thinking.

05 · Mobile

Mobile that is actually mobile.

Not a desktop app shrunk down. Fullscreen modals instead of sidebars-pretending-to-be-drawers. A horizontal editorial view-picker instead of a five-icon tab bar. Real swipe gestures on task rows. Pull-to-refresh that actually refreshes. The mobile app is its own design exercise, not a responsive fallback.

06 · Free

Free for teams, too.

Most task managers paywall collaboration to push you onto a subscription. We will not. Share a project, invite by email, assign tasks, comment, set roles. Every collaboration feature is free at every team size. Our bet is simple: build the trust now, earn it later.
